Overview

This role involves leveraging deep financial modeling expertise to audit, refine, and improve AI-generated financial modeling tasks. The goal is to ensure these tasks accurately reflect the workflows and standards of professional financial analysts. The position requires strong knowledge of US-based financial terminology and conventions, proficiency in Python and GitHub, and the ability to edit technical documentation.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role with an expected commitment of 10–40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Audit AI-generated financial modeling tasks to verify they replicate professional analyst workflows accurately
  • Validate task instructions and scoring rubrics for logical consistency, completeness, and real-world applicability
  • Edit Markdown files and Python scripts via Pull Requests to correct logic errors, clarify ambiguities, and improve task quality
  • Assess AI outputs for correct application of financial concepts such as discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, profit and loss (P&L) interpretation, financial statement modeling, and valuation techniques
  • Provide clear, structured feedback based on professional financial expertise
  • Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team using GitHub workflows
  • Manage task-based assignments independently, working at your own pace and schedule

Requirements

  • Extensive subject matter expertise in finance, with experience as an analyst, investment banker, corporate finance professional, equity researcher, FP&A specialist, or a closely related role
  • Strong command of US financial terminology and frameworks, including DCF, P&L, balance sheet analysis, weighted average cost of capital (WACC), and comparable company analysis
  • Proficiency in Python, including reading, writing, and debugging scripts for financial calculations
  • Experience with GitHub, including cloning repositories, creating branches, and submitting Pull Requests independently
  • Ability to edit Markdown for technical documentation
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic, quality-driven approach to reviewing work
  • Clear and precise written communication skills to articulate issues and solutions effectively
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA, CPA, or MBA with a finance concentration
  • Professional experience building financial models in Excel or Python for deal evaluation, forecasting, or valuation
  • Cross-border finance experience involving US and Canadian markets
  • Background in teaching, mentoring, or developing training materials for financial concepts
  • Familiarity with AI/machine learning evaluation workflows or data annotation projects
  • Experience writing or reviewing technical rubrics or assessment criteria
