Overview

This full-time, entry-level remote role supports financial reporting and variance analysis for the organization. You will transform financial data into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the factors driving differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Compare actual results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Ensure financial models and schedules remain understandable after task completion by using clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas.
  • Perform variance analysis that goes beyond whether a value is higher or lower; identify operational or financial drivers when the information allows, and assess whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain drivers behind financial changes.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
