Financial Analyst

Overview

This role supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of business performance. The position is designed for someone who can work carefully with financial information and explain what the numbers mean in practical terms.

Responsibilities

• Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
• Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
• Perform variance analysis by identifying which accounts or operating factors contributed to differences between plan and actual performance.
• Verify underlying information and provide context on whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

• Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
• Strong performance includes producing technically reliable analysis that is useful to decision-makers, supported by clear assumptions, reasonable checks, and concise explanations of key drivers.
