Overview
This role involves working as a Financial Analyst in a remote setting within the United States. The position is full time and pays $66,000–$74,000 per year.
You will help organize financial information into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the factors driving differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential.
Financial models and schedules should remain understandable after the immediate task is complete, with clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas to support review and reduce the chance of unnoticed errors.
Responsibilities
- Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
- Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
- Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
- Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
- Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
- Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
- Compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind financial changes.
- Go beyond stating whether numbers are higher or lower by identifying operational or financial drivers (where information allows) and indicating whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
- Manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
Requirements
- Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
- Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
- Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
- Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
- Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
- Because the position is remote: dependable communication and self-management, including organizing work, responding to reasonable requests for updates, and using shared digital tools to keep responsibilities visible and handoffs clear.
