Overview

A financial monitoring and analysis team within a diversified business group is seeking a results-oriented, organized, and analytical finance professional. This role focuses on driving financial optimization across multiple portfolio companies, supporting leadership decisions through insightful analyses and clear presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely monthly financial reports that are easy for stakeholders to use.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets, forecasts, and prior periods; investigate key revenue and expense drivers and summarize findings into clear commentary.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and build models to answer strategic questions such as profitability, unit economics, scenario modeling, and business case support.
  • Support annual budgeting, planning, and periodic reforecasting; collaborate with financial planning and analysis colleagues to update assumptions and build projections.
  • Work closely with finance partners to coordinate inputs, align timelines, and deliver consistent updates during close and forecast cycles and for leadership requests.
  • Maintain and improve reporting templates and financial models to enhance efficiency, consistency, and accuracy; assist in implementing process improvements while adhering to internal controls and policies.
  • Ensure accuracy and ownership by checking outputs, documenting assumptions, and meeting deadlines to build trust in the work product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, or FP&A within a corporate environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to identify trends and anomalies and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining financial results to non-finance partners and summarizing insights clearly.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills; able to manage recurring deadlines and handle urgent requests effectively.
  • Collaborative team player who builds trust quickly, responds well to feedback, and works well across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with financial statements, budgeting concepts, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis features; experience with Power Query or Power Pivot is a plus.
  • Interest or experience in leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and gain insights.
  • Exposure to or interest in healthcare industry business drivers and metrics.
  • Growth mindset with curiosity, proactivity, and eagerness to improve processes and take on new challenges.

Location

This position offers a flexible work arrangement with a Hybrid Flex or Remote Flex model. Hybrid Flex roles require working in the office at least two days per week for collaboration and connection. Remote Flex roles are primarily virtual with occasional in-office visits. The role is based near Durham, North Carolina, but candidates from outside the local area and in specified states are welcome. Onsite expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
