Overview
This remote Financial Analyst position offers the option to elect into a 9/80 flex work schedule. The annual salary range for this role is $71,494 to $82,219. Loan repayment programs may be available for qualifying candidates.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation of the agency budget.
- Support preparation of contract renewal packages, including amendments and budget modifications.
- Prepare and analyze operating and strategic plans, including monthly and quarterly forecasts.
- Design complex worksheets and/or databases for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Provide financial and technical expertise on projects requiring complex financial analysis.
- Produce monthly budget monitoring reports for corporate finance, explaining budget-to-actual variances.
- Prepare and publish monthly operating management reports and attend financial review meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, periodic and year-end contract-based cost reports.
- Assist with financial reporting, preparation of supporting schedules, and data analysis.
- Monitor and analyze monthly expenses.
- Perform related duties as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to derive insights from reports and/or dashboards; experience with reporting tools equivalent to Power BI is highly desirable.
- Intermediate knowledge of budget development/management, cost projections, and reporting requirements.
- Advanced computer skills, including preparation of complex Excel spreadsheets, routine word processing, and preparation of presentations for sophisticated audiences.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and consensus internally and externally.
- Ability to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Analytical skills, experience, and good judgment to present and explain financial analyses.
- Commitment to team objectives and organizational philosophies.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
