Overview

A financial analyst position is available in Minneapolis, Minnesota (55401). This role involves tracking, reporting, and analyzing financial information, including financial reporting, budget and forecast creation, and variance analysis. The position also includes calculating and depositing payroll taxes with the IRS and various state agencies, filing payroll tax forms, and performing general accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely accounting close.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze financial data to support budget development, variance reporting, and preparation of internal and external reporting packages.
  • Identify adverse financial trends and recommend solutions to mitigate financial impact.
  • Assist with financial analysis and support budget managers during the annual budget process.
  • Provide modeling, analysis, and financial support for current year and five-year forecasting.
  • Document key processes to ensure consistency and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with building rate case information and support regulatory submissions and associated schedules.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general financial accounting or analysis.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in analysis, problem solving, customer service, and relationship building.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting base pay range: $64,100 to $90,967 per year.
