Overview

This role supports recurring financial reporting and analysis for revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance. The position is entry-level and includes meaningful analytical responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
  • Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Conduct variance analysis that goes beyond stating whether a number is higher or lower by:
    • Identifying which accounts or operating factors contributed to the movement.
    • Determining whether the difference appears temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
    • Communicating results with appropriate context.

Requirements

  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Organized documentation habits with an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Preparedness to investigate incomplete or inconsistent financial information, document limitations, and avoid presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
  • Ability to keep assumptions visible in forecasting and present alternative scenarios when a single estimate could create a false sense of precision.
