Financial Analyst

Overview

This full-time, entry-level Financial Analyst role is remote within the United States. The position combines spreadsheet-based analysis with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends to help stakeholders understand both what changed and why it may matter.

Salary range: $69,000-$77,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to evaluate how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
• Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
• When variance analysis is possible based on available information, identify the operational or financial drivers behind the movement and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or require further review.
• Communicate analysis results with appropriate context, without overstating what the available information can prove.

Requirements

• Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
