Financial Analyst

Overview

This full-time Financial Analyst role is remote within the United States. The position focuses on turning financial information into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the drivers behind differences between plans and outcomes.

Accuracy, visible assumptions, and clear communication are central to the work. Forecasting involves uncertainty, so the role requires comfort presenting alternative scenarios rather than implying false precision when outcomes depend on variables that may change.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
• Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
• Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
• Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Comfort learning organization-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
• Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including investigating the source, documenting limitations, and avoiding presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
