Overview

This full-time remote Financial Analyst role is based in the United States. Salary range: $67,000–$75,000 per year.

In this role, you will organize financial information into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the factors driving differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods; explain meaningful variances.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Perform variance analysis beyond identifying whether results are higher or lower; identify operational or financial drivers when information allows.
  • Help determine whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
  • Ensure forecasting assumptions are visible rather than hidden inside calculations.
  • Present alternative scenarios when a single estimate could create a false sense of precision, particularly when outcomes depend on variables that may change.

Requirements

  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Ability to learn company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Clear written communication skills and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Consistent follow-through in a remote setting, with organized communication and timely questions when clarification is needed.
