Overview

This is an entry-level Financial Analyst role supporting recurring financial reporting and analysis related to revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance.

Location: Remote - United States
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: $66,000-$74,000 per year

In this role, you will move between financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions during the same week. Success in the position depends on having calculations checked, assumptions clearly documented, and conclusions presented in a way that supports decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.

Requirements

  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Forecasting comfort: present assumptions clearly (not hidden inside calculations) and be able to discuss alternative scenarios rather than creating a false sense of precision when outcomes depend on variables that may change.
  • Remote work effectiveness: dependable communication and self-management; organize work, respond to reasonable requests for updates, and use shared digital tools to keep responsibilities visible and handoffs clear.
