Overview

This full-time, remote role (United States) is for an entry-level Financial Analyst focused on recurring financial reporting and analysis. The position supports answering questions related to revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance—while helping translate financial results into clear, actionable explanations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
  • Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Update forecasts and review actual results against budget as assigned.
  • Conduct variance analysis that goes beyond describing higher/lower figures; identify operational or financial drivers when information allows.
  • Explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
