Financial Analyst

Overview

This role involves working as a Financial Analyst in a remote, United States-based position (Full Time). The salary range is $72,000–$80,000 per year.

The position combines spreadsheet-based analysis with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You will help stakeholders understand both what changed and why it matters.

Forecasting involves uncertainty, so assumptions should be visible rather than hidden inside calculations. You will present alternative scenarios when a single estimate could create a false sense of precision—particularly when outcomes depend on variables that may change.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
• Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.

Requirements

• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
