Overview

This role involves serving as a Financial Analyst for a remote, full-time position based in the United States.

You will combine spreadsheet-based financial work with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends—helping stakeholders understand both what changed and why it may matter.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Conduct variance analysis beyond stating whether a number is higher or lower; identify operational or financial drivers behind movement and explain whether the difference appears temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review (where the information allows).

Requirements

  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Strong numerical reasoning and attention to detail, with a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Preparedness to manage assigned priorities responsibly, communicate progress when appropriate, and collaborate through shared digital tools while maintaining professional standards for accuracy and documentation.
