Overview
This role is for a Financial Analyst supporting stakeholders with spreadsheet-based analysis, model review, and clear communication of assumptions, variances, and financial trends.
You will work with financial models and schedules so they remain understandable after the immediate task is complete. Expect to move between financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions within the same week, with a focus on checked calculations, clear assumptions, and decision-supporting conclusions.
Responsibilities
- Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
- Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
- Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
- Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
- Ensure variance analysis goes beyond stating whether a number is higher or lower by identifying drivers behind movement (when the information allows) and explaining whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
Requirements
- Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
- Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
- Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
- Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
- Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
