Financial Analyst

Overview

This role supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business performance analysis. Responsibilities include both routine financial reporting and forward-looking analysis, such as comparing scenarios, investigating variances, and connecting financial results to underlying operating activity.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
• Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so the work remains understandable and reusable.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Review source information and validate calculations before analysis is distributed or relied upon.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.

Requirements

• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
• Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
• Support variance analysis beyond identifying whether a number is higher or lower by helping identify operational or financial drivers behind the movement, and whether the difference appears temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
