Financial Analyst

Overview

This full-time, entry-level Financial Analyst role is remote and based in the United States.

The position supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of business performance. Work involves moving between financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions—ensuring calculations are checked, assumptions are clear, and conclusions are explained in practical terms.

Salary: $69,000–$77,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
• Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Perform variance analysis that goes beyond stating results higher or lower; where information allows, identify operational or financial drivers behind movements and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

• Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain drivers behind a financial change.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
