Overview
This role is part of the finance business partnering team supporting major business decisions across planning, investment, and performance. You will work closely with a senior team member to build models and reporting that business partners rely on, while partnering with functional leaders and gaining early exposure to executive leadership.
The team is organized around three areas:
- Go-to-market finance
- Corporate finance
- Functional business partnering across the business
As the organization continues to scale, the team is adding two people, with significant ownership of real scope early in the role.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain models that drive planning for your assigned area, including headcount, capacity, and spend.
- Own recurring reporting and monthly variance analysis, including writing the first draft of the story behind the numbers.
- Partner with the business on spend tracking and review, flagging anomalies before they are identified by others.
- Build metrics and dashboards to assess whether functions are becoming more efficient.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis for the executive team as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Roughly 1 to 3 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, data analysis, or a comparable analytical role.
- Strong Excel and financial fundamentals, including the instinct to sanity-check your own work.
- Clear written communication, including the ability to explain numbers to people who do not work in finance.
- Strong learning agility (“high slope”), with interest in where you will be in two years as much as where you are today.
- A working style that automates repeatable parts of the job.
- Familiarity with AI tools, BI tools, or SQL is a plus (training and support will be provided if you have the instinct but not the tools).
- Meaningful overlap with Pacific time, as the team sits on the West Coast.
- Open to occasional travel for team and company onsite events.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay depends on job-related factors including location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, and PTO.
- Base salary hiring range (plus an equity grant):
- For roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, or Washington: $80,000 to $110,000 per year.
