Overview

This is an hourly, remote contractor role for a Financial Analysis Subject Matter Expert (SME). The role involves reviewing AI-generated financial analysis and business-finance responses, creating expert finance content, and providing precise written feedback. The focus is on evaluating reasoning quality and step-by-step analytical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Review AI-generated financial solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to prompts.
  • Identify errors in financial modeling logic, assumptions, unit economics, valuation reasoning, forecasting, and metric interpretation.
  • Fact-check finance concepts and calculations.
  • Write high-quality explanations and model solutions demonstrating correct methods.
  • Rate and compare multiple responses based on correctness and reasoning quality.
  • Develop AI training content including detailed prompts and gold-standard finance outputs such as models, assumptions tables, narratives, sensitivity analyses, and investment-style summaries.
  • Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve numeric correctness, rigor, clarity, and practical usefulness.
  • Test AI outputs for calculation errors, misleading interpretations, unsafe assumptions, bias, and validate reliability across business scenarios.

Note: There is no immediate project available for this role. Qualified candidates will be among the first contacted for future relevant opportunities and gain access to projects through the expert network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics/Statistics, or a related field.
  • CFA or MBA is a strong plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in financial analysis roles such as FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, equity research, consulting, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of core finance concepts including 3-statement logic, cash flow drivers, working capital, margin analysis, capital allocation, and corporate accounting linkage.
  • Proven experience building and reviewing financial models including forecasting, scenario/sensitivity analysis, cohort/unit economics, and pricing/packaging analyses.
  • Comfortable with valuation reasoning including DCF mechanics, comparable company selection, multiple drivers, and clearly stating assumptions and limitations.
  • High quantitative rigor and attention to detail covering units, sign conventions, time horizons, circularity, and error-checks.
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses clearly in writing with at least C1 English proficiency.
  • Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
  • Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, finance quality assurance, investment memo review, or analytics editorial work is strongly preferred.
