Overview

This role supports recurring financial reporting and helps answer questions about revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance. It’s an entry-level position with meaningful analytical responsibility.

You’ll often start with variances between plan and actual performance. From there, you’ll identify which accounts or operating factors contributed to the movement, verify underlying information, and communicate results with appropriate context.

Responsibilities

  • Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Present visible, well-documented assumptions, especially when forecasting includes uncertainty.
  • When outcomes depend on variables that may change, present alternative scenarios rather than relying on a single estimate.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind financial change.
