Overview

This full-time, entry-level Financial Analyst role is remote within the United States.

Salary: $69,000-$77,000 per year

The position combines spreadsheet-based analysis with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You will help stakeholders understand both what changed and why it may matter.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Compare actual results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Conduct variance analysis that goes beyond stating whether a number is higher or lower by identifying operational or financial drivers (where information allows) and assessing whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Ability to identify what changed, understand assumptions behind results, and communicate implications without overstating what the information can prove.
