Overview

This role supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of business performance. The work focuses on careful handling of financial information and explaining what the numbers mean in practical terms.

You will often begin analysis by comparing plan vs. actual performance, determining which accounts or operating factors drove the movement, verifying underlying information, and communicating results with appropriate context.

Variance analysis should go beyond stating whether a number is higher or lower. Where the information allows, you will help identify operational or financial drivers behind the movement and explain whether the difference appears temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or needs further review.

Responsibilities

  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.

  • Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.

Requirements

  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Organized documentation habits with appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
