Overview
This role involves supporting budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of business performance. The position is designed for someone who can work carefully with financial information and explain what the numbers mean in practical terms.
You may move between financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions during the same week. Across tasks, calculations are expected to be checked, assumptions clearly documented, and conclusions presented in a way that supports decisions.
Responsibilities
- Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
- Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
- Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
- Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
- Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
- Conduct variance analysis beyond stating whether a number is higher or lower; where information allows, identify operational or financial drivers behind movement and explain whether the difference appears temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or needs further review.
Requirements
- Clear written communication and ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
- Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain drivers behind financial change.
- Organized documentation habits and appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
- Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
- Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
