Overview

This entry-level Financial Analyst role supports recurring financial reporting and helps answer questions related to revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance. The work blends routine reporting with forward-looking analysis, including scenario comparisons, variance investigations, and connecting financial results to the underlying operating activity.

Responsibilities

  • Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods and explain meaningful variances.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Investigate variance drivers (e.g., whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or require further review).
  • Use good judgment when information is incomplete or inconsistent by investigating sources, documenting limitations, and avoiding overstated conclusions.

Requirements

  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Clear written communication and ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
