Overview

A growth-oriented private organization specializing in intelligent solutions for water and telecommunication challenges is seeking a Business Analyst to join their IT Data Solutions team. This role serves as a strategic partner to business stakeholders by transforming data into actionable insights that improve decision-making, operational effectiveness, and business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand business objectives, information needs, and operational challenges.
  • Support, maintain, and continuously improve existing reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Analyze business data and reporting trends to identify opportunities for improved visibility, decision-making, operational effectiveness, and business performance.
  • Recommend new metrics, reports, analytics, and process improvements based on business needs and data insights.
  • Analyze business data, processes, and requirements to identify opportunities for improved reporting, analytics, and business insights.
  • Design, develop, and implement solutions that support business objectives and decision-making.
  • Support process improvement and automation initiatives that increase efficiency, consistency, and business value.
  • Ensure business data is accurate, reliable, timely, and effectively utilized for reporting and analytics.
  • Support the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of analytics and reporting platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Unanet, and related data platforms.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure data models, integrations, semantic models, and reporting assets effectively support business and security requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and adoption of reporting, analytics, and data management standards and best practices.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation for security configurations, architectures, runbooks, playbooks, and governance processes to ensure operational clarity and audit readiness.
  • Provide after-hours support for major incidents and essential support and security operations.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support IT and organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable business insights from data.
  • Ability to understand business objectives and translate business requirements into reporting, analytics, process improvement, and automation solutions.
  • Ability to evaluate existing reporting, analytics, and business processes and recommend improvements that increase business value and decision-making effectiveness.
  • Advanced proficiency with Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and related reporting, analytics, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience working with complex financial and operational data, business processes, and reporting requirements, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and business reporting.
  • Ability to work with data from multiple business systems and understand how information flows across organizational processes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with executive leadership, business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party resources.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry reporting standards, analytics best practices, and data management principles.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion, with the ability to appropriately handle confidential business, financial, operational, and personnel information.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Seven (7) years or more of progressively responsible experience in FP&A, financial analysis, business analysis, business intelligence, operations analysis, reporting development, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with enterprise business systems, reporting platforms, and data sources used to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, data warehousing concepts, semantic models, or similar modern analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and business stakeholders through reporting, analytics, and decision-support initiatives.
  • Experience within engineering, consulting, professional services, or other project-based organizations preferred.
  • Experience with Unanet or similar ERP and project management platforms preferred.

Location

  • Preferred work location: Denver, Colorado; however, candidates may be based anywhere in the United States.
  • Flexible work schedule with sufficient overlap of U.S. business hours to support collaboration with business and technology teams.
