Overview

The organization is building a modern FP&A function, and this role will help shape it from the ground up. You will own the financial model, forecast and planning cycle, and the analysis that supports major company decisions. You will report to the CFO, collaborate across teams, and raise the bar on board reporting.

This is a remote-first role headquartered in San Francisco, with a globally distributed team and in-person hubs in Da Nang (Vietnam), Barcelona (Spain), and Menlo Park (California).

Responsibilities

Company forecasting & planning

  • Own the modeling and mechanics of the company-wide forecast (P&L and balance sheet), partnering with the CFO on key assumptions and priorities
  • Build driver-based and scenario models to support strategic decisions

Subscription & revenue modeling

  • Own modeling of billings, deferred revenue, and cash across monthly and annual plans
  • Analyze renewal rates, churn, subscriber mix, and cohort behavior
  • Partner cross-functionally on CAC/LTV analysis and unit economics

Board & executive reporting

  • Build financial analysis and materials for board meetings, working alongside the CFO on the overall narrative
  • Develop your own point of view on what the numbers mean and provide recommendations

Systems, automation, and AI

  • Design and own the FP&A data and automation layer, including how AI supports forecasting, variance analysis, and board reporting
  • Redesign recurring workflows (forecast refresh, variance commentary, reconciliations) with automation and AI, with review controls built in
  • Drive innovation by integrating AI and emerging technologies to improve forecasting workflows, controls, and documentation
  • Own the FP&A calendar and strategic roadmap, prioritizing initiatives and guiding how FP&A time is allocated

Ad hoc reporting

  • Deliver ad hoc analyses and reporting to support executive and cross-functional decisions
  • Assess and prioritize incoming requests to keep them aligned with FP&A priorities and your capacity

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience in FP&A or corporate finance, ideally at a SaaS or subscription-based company
  • Experience rebuilding recurring finance processes (variance commentary, forecast refresh, board pack drafting, reconciliations) with AI or automation, including the ability to explain what changed, how validation was done, and what it saved
  • Understanding of where AI is reliable in finance and where it isn’t, with reconciliation checks, review steps, and audit trails
  • Fluency in subscription and SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, renewal rates, CAC, LTV) and how they connect to the broader P&L and balance sheet
  • Strong technical finance foundation: ability to build a driver-based, three-statement model from scratch and defend every assumption
  • Comfort with SQL or Python, or demonstrated willingness to learn to pull and shape subscription data from billing, CRM, and ERP systems
  • Ability to design how models, data, and workflows fit together (e.g., separating assumptions from calculations, consistent metric definitions, clear documentation)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience modeling headcount and operating expenses alongside revenue
  • Background in FP&A tooling beyond Excel (Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Power BI, or similar)
  • Experience supporting board reporting or fundraising materials directly

Compensation & Benefits

  • $130,000–$180,000 base salary, depending on location and experience
    • Tier 1 city residents: $150,000–$180,000
    • All other locations: $130,000–$160,000
  • Fully paid health insurance for individual coverage
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave for non-birthing parents; 22 weeks paid maternity leave for birthing parents
  • Unlimited flexible time off
  • Stock options
  • 401(k) match (US employees only)
  • $1,000 annual stipend for learning and development

Location

  • Remote-first with headquarters in San Francisco
  • In-person hubs in Da Nang (Vietnam), Barcelona (Spain), and Menlo Park (California)
