Overview

A life sciences and biotechnology organization is seeking a Finance Commercial Manager to lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis supporting commercial and revenue-generating functions. This role also involves supporting the adoption of AI-enabled automation across Commercial FP&A processes. The position is part of the FP&A team based in Coralville, IA, and is offered as a remote opportunity reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and govern advanced financial models to assess business performance and forecast key outcomes.
  • Provide leadership with clear, timely, and actionable financial reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in developing and maturing the Commercial Finance Center of Excellence, driving standardization, best practices, and cross-organizational alignment.
  • Guide and coach financial analysts, oversee analytical deliverables, and establish best practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to deliver strategic insights, identify performance drivers, and proactively highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by designing and implementing enhanced forecasting, reporting, and analytical frameworks.
  • Utilize BI platforms and advanced analytics to automate reporting and improve data quality and integrity.
  • Manage consolidation and validation of financial and operational data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business with 9+ years of experience, OR
  • Master’s degree in a related field with 7+ years of experience, OR
  • Doctoral degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience.
  • Experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or related fields, with proven support for commercial teams or driving insights for sales and revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, quantify, and communicate actionable insights to cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with Power BI suite and/or OneStream.
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis and reporting principles, processes, and standards, including revenue recognition.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership experience managing analysts or cross-functional projects is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $110,000 - $125,000.
  • Eligibility for bonus/incentive pay.
