Investment Banking Expert

Overview

This is a standing remote contract listing for investment bankers who want to do AI training and evaluation work. It is not tied to a single specific project, and remains open whether or not a matching project is active.

When new projects begin, work may start on short notice. Instead of creating a new posting each time, the organization maintains one open listing per field and draws from it when suitable work becomes available.

Responsibilities

Work assignments may include matching investment banking expertise to projects such as:

• Building a three-statement model and an LBO from a filing set, then writing the rubric used to grade a model’s incorrect attempt
• Reviewing model-generated comps and precedent transactions, and explaining where the multiple, the calendarization, or the peer set is off
• Grading model-drafted CIM and pitch materials against what an MD would send, and writing the reasoning behind each deduction

Qualifications

Required:

• Professional experience in financial modeling, valuation, or deal execution
• Clear written communication, since most work involves explaining your reasoning
• Comfort with ambiguous tasks, including a willingness to flag unclear instructions

Preferred Qualifications

Backgrounds that commonly appear in the applicant pool include:

• Bulge bracket and elite boutique advisory: M&A, leveraged finance, restructuring, ECM/DCM
• Buy-side seats built on banking training: private equity, growth equity, private credit, distressed
• Corporate development and in-house M&A

For matching, the organization places more emphasis on whether you built the models and wrote the materials yourself, recently enough to explain the judgment calls behind them.

Contract and Payment Terms

• Engaged as an independent contractor
• Fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance
• Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered
• Past rates have run $100 to $130 an hour, set per project by scope and depth

Fully remote.

When a project requires investment banking expertise, matching individuals may be invited to a specific project listing. That listing includes the rate, hours, and client, and any hiring decision is made there.

This standing listing does not accept or reject candidates; outreach depends on project matching.
