Overview
This role is part of the Corporate HR Control and Employee Accounting team and focuses on managing and overseeing the financial aspects of the HR department. Responsibilities include monthly review of benefits accounting journal entries, account reconciliations for benefits and payroll taxes, and monthly financial oversight of companywide employee benefits expenses. The position also supports recurring monthly and quarterly expense reporting needs related to Corporate HR and Workers’ Compensation.
This is a remote role requiring occasional travel for meetings and/or training.
Responsibilities
- Review Benefits Accounting monthly journal entries
- Complete and review account reconciliations related to benefits and payroll taxes
- Provide monthly financial oversight of companywide employee benefits expenses
- Support recurring monthly/quarterly expense reporting needs for Corporate HR and Workers’ Compensation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
- Minimum of six years of accounting work experience
- At least four years in corporate or public accounting
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify and communicate accounting and financial reporting issues to management timely and concisely
- Highly proficient and comfortable with extensive use of Excel
- Experience coaching and mentoring lower-level accounting staff or interns
Compensation & Benefits
- $89,600–$119,500/year
- Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 30% of your eligible earnings, based on company performance
