Overview
A growing finance team is seeking a Lead International Accountant to manage and oversee international accounting processes and compliance for multiple subsidiaries. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to financial systems development, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Own overall international accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial statements for seven international subsidiaries.
- Provide advanced expertise in international accounting and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with tax, payroll, legal, and other accounting teams to meet deadlines and compliance obligations.
- Act as project manager for cross-team compliance deliverables.
- Oversee five international audits from start to finish, coordinating with third-party partners.
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers handling local filings and compliance.
- Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and adapt to business growth.
- Review and provide coaching and feedback on the work of other team members.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for international accounting and related processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent business degree.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Accounting or Audit, including at least 2 years in international accounting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing relationships and compliance with third-party accounting service providers.
- Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as NetSuite and advanced Excel skills.
Growth and Development
- Within 1 month: Complete comprehensive onboarding, align on role expectations and career goals, and learn about scaling business operations.
- Within 3 months: Gain proficiency in accounting systems, understand foreign subsidiary activities, manage third-party communications, and build cross-team relationships.
- Within 6 months: Maintain and improve SOX compliance, oversee international audits, and participate in performance reviews.
- Within 12 months: Continuously evaluate and enhance internal processes and relationships related to international accounting, contributing innovative ideas to the team.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $99,200 – $122,700 annually, with geographic pay zones:
- Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $109,100 - $150,040
- Zone 2 (All other US states): $99,200 - $136,400
