Overview
This role involves managing the end-to-end external financial reporting process, including SEC filings such as Forms 10-K and 10-Q. The position requires driving the reporting calendar, coordinating cross-functional work across Accounting, Legal, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and Investor Relations, and enhancing the quality, clarity, and consistency of disclosures and reporting processes. The role reports to the Director of SEC Reporting and is remote within the Americas.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and file SEC filings including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and S-1, as well as quarterly investor materials.
- Build and manage the quarterly and annual reporting calendar, coordinate inputs from multiple teams, maintain accountability for deadlines, and proactively identify timeline risks.
- Lead the earnings release process, including preparation of the quarterly management reporting package and review of financial information in earnings releases and scripts.
- Own the disclosure checklist and XBRL review process, identifying opportunities to improve disclosure quality, clarity, and consistency.
- Identify inefficiencies and manual steps in the SEC reporting process and drive automation and standardization improvements.
- Prepare or review journal entries, reconciliations, equity rollforwards, earnings per share calculations, and client-provided schedules for areas such as stock-based compensation and stock repurchases.
- Ensure compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP reporting requirements, research technical accounting issues, and lead implementation of new accounting pronouncements affecting disclosures.
- Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance for relevant areas, support internal and external reporting packages, and lead or contribute to special projects including process improvements, new disclosure requirements, and merger and acquisition reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred.
- Experience owning SEC reporting deliverables, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, in a public company or public accounting environment serving public company clients.
- Proven track record of improving disclosures and reporting processes beyond executing existing procedures.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage calendars, drive accountability across teams, and handle competing deadlines independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including researching and interpreting complex accounting guidance.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders and collaborating with Legal, FP&A, Investor Relations, and business partners.
- Proficiency with Workiva Wdesk and NetSuite preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- United States base salary range: $139,000 to $235,000 USD.
- Salary range reflects base salary rate across US locations and does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits.
