Overview
This role involves supervising, training, and developing a team of Medical Claims Specialists responsible for medical billing and claims processing. The supervisor manages claims submission, payment tracking, and collaborates with team members and external agencies to resolve outstanding claim issues.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for team member inquiries, coordinating responses with agencies and internal departments including Operations.
- Approve credit memos and employee receivables.
- Assist with administrative accounting procedures as directed by the Controller/CFO.
- Audit team performance, monitor metrics, and manage the claims process.
- Train new and existing employees on department procedures and agency requirements.
- Develop claims procedures for new agencies prior to transitioning responsibilities to Claims Specialists.
- Prepare accounts receivable reports for assigned agencies to monitor unpaid claims and work with team members and agencies to collect outstanding payments.
- Communicate regularly with the Claims Manager regarding training issues, agency challenges, unbilled items, and accounts receivable concerns.
- Attend trainings, conferences, and staff meetings.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to meet deadlines through effective planning.
- Experience managing complex projects with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with numbers and applying basic math skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities for managing multiple team members.
