Overview
A dedicated organization focused on vocational training and community support is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance department. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments, supporting the organization's financial health.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support to the Accounts Payable Department, ensuring compliance with procedures and deadlines.
- Accurately process all invoices, verifying details and ensuring adherence to payment terms.
- Monitor available funds to facilitate timely payments and organize invoices and requisitions for approval.
- Ensure proper coding, computation, and record-keeping of invoices according to policies.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships.
- Maintain organized filing systems for invoices, requisitions, and related documents for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
- Prepare and process checks and payments accurately and on time.
- Generate reports on accounts payable status for management and regulatory agencies.
- Assist in maintaining the accounts payable ledger, ensuring proper recording and reconciliation of transactions.
- Support budget analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction or efficiency improvements.
- Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development, including mandatory sessions and committee participation.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes affecting accounts payable operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager or Department Head.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably within a non-profit organization.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Windows-based systems.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills.
- Experience in regulatory reporting.
