Overview
Location: San Antonio, TX, USA (Remote)
Compensation: $120,000.00 USD Annually - $130,000.00 USD Annually
This role focuses on pricing and rating analytics for P&C insurance, including translating actuarial and legacy specifications into functional requirements, configuring rating components across pricing platforms, and supporting end-to-end premium flow within policy administration systems.
Responsibilities
- Apply P&C insurance pricing & rating domain knowledge, particularly for Auto (additional advantage).
- Perform functional analysis by identifying rules and logic from legacy systems and documenting them in user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Configure rates and inputs in Earnix, Ratabase, and Radar systems, including integrations with any PAS (policy administration system) components.
- Analyze and partner with predictive modeling, pricing, and underwriting teams to determine which areas to discuss and how pricing inputs should be derived.
- Manage backlog in JIRA and support agile ceremonies in coordination with intervening teams and customers.
- Write efficient pseudo code for transformation logic used in acceptance criteria to improve development clarity.
- Correlate business requirements with application components using mathematical concepts and logical reasoning.
- Document code and data conversion processes to maintain traceability from requirements to code implementation.
- Coordinate across business & IT stakeholders, including offshore teams, ensuring clear communication.
- Publish weekly status reports covering work completed, risks/impediments, and mitigation plans.
Requirements
- Understanding of P&C insurance rating principles, including insurance products and rating methodologies applied in Ratabase, Earnix (and related frameworks).
- Hands-on experience working with Ratabase and Radar pricing platforms.
- Proficiency in Python with mandatory experience using: py spark, numpy, pandas.
- Strong configuration and development experience configuring rates and inputs in Earnix, Ratabase, Radar framework.
- Strong business analysis skills, including the ability to translate actuarial specifications into functional specifications for rating & pricing, specifically around the PAS system.
- Working knowledge of rating platforms in connection with policy administration systems to understand end-to-end premium flow across the end-to-end policy life cycle event.
- Experience using JIRA, JWM, or Rally for work reporting/status cascade, including backlog management in agile environments.
- Ability to write user stories in JIRA with business acceptance criteria.
- Ability to apply pricing components and rating methodology to price both existing and new products using technical analysis of legacy systems.
- Proven ability to partner with integrating teams, including pricing & underwriting and predictive modeling teams.
- Expertise in identifying data dependencies, model integration approach, and downstream impacts.
Preferred Qualifications
