Overview

The Senior Pricing & Revenue Analyst is a strategic, data-driven role focused on developing pricing strategies, optimizing revenue performance, and delivering executive-level insights to drive profit growth. This position requires advanced analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, competitive intelligence, and collaboration across business functions. The ideal candidate possesses strong quantitative abilities, business acumen, and the capability to influence senior leadership with clear, fact-based recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and refine pricing strategies to maximize margin, volume, and long-term revenue goals.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of price elasticity, margin sensitivity, and profitability.
  • Build dynamic pricing models using historical data, market conditions, and demand forecasts.
  • Evaluate promotional pricing, discount structures, rebate programs, and customer-level profitability.
  • Perform scenario modeling to forecast financial outcomes under various pricing strategies.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for pricing optimization.
  • Create proofs of concept and test performance for integration into pricing and revenue management platforms.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations articulating insights, assumptions, risks, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline pricing processes, improve data quality, and enhance pricing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches, cost changes, commercial policies, and contract negotiations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in pricing.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and scenario modeling.
  • Experience leading a pricing function or department is preferred.
  • Experience with statistical or database coding languages (e.g., R, Python) is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and data analytics tools such as PowerBI, Alteryx, and Tableau.
  • Familiarity with various ERP systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for quantitative and qualitative price-setting challenges.
  • Ability to interpret complex reports and data sources.
  • Effective presentation skills for communicating with top management.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, eCommerce, product management, IT, business analytics) and external stakeholders (consultants).
  • Knowledge of database software, B2C and B2B price setting, and market analysis.

Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of purchase behavior dynamics for end consumers and intermediaries (e.g., wholesalers, OEMs, retailers).
  • Familiarity with pricing analyses including elasticity, psychological pricing, assortment analysis, co-op justification, price thresholds, restocking fees, negotiated discounts, and value selling.
  • Experience working with unstructured data of varying quality.
  • Leadership experience in setting goals and developing employees with diverse skills and career objectives.
  • Strong communication skills tailored to different audiences to influence leadership decisions.
  • Experience with both off-the-shelf pricing tools and custom Excel-based pricing tools.

Travel

  • Limited travel required (approximately 5%).

Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Acts as a working team member who coordinates, supports, trains, and serves as a knowledge resource for other team members.
  • No direct reports or formal supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • This position involves light work, including exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently.
  • Physical activities include standing, walking, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Requires close visual acuity for data preparation, analysis, computer use, and inspection tasks.
