Overview

This role serves as a Project Financial Analyst II supporting Business Unit Controllers and Associate Directors of Finance. The analyst prepares, reconciles, analyzes, and reports on business unit revenue, contracts, projects, and related financial metrics. The position involves producing financial and operational analyses, interpreting data, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Record monthly revenue for Unit, Fee for Service, and Fixed Price contracts.
  • Load project budgets into Oracle/Revenue Wizard and maintain key member lists and project data in Oracle and related systems.
  • Draft monthly project-level actual versus budget/forecast variance analyses and reports.
  • Prepare monthly financial forecasting of results (backlog).
  • Meet established deadlines for revenue and backlog submissions.
  • Prepare timely project closeout reconciliations.
  • Review executed Work Orders and Change Orders for bonuses or anomalies.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Unit Controller to capture, assess, and consolidate results.
  • Draft key reports such as annual cost and expense budgets, cost rates, forecasting, monthly utilization, headcount, revenue backlog analysis, and gross profit for assigned areas.
  • Update predefined reports as needed.
  • Attend project meetings, including kick-off meetings to capture data for new projects and monthly project review meetings to ensure understanding of project status and forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor overall health of assigned projects, including revenues, gross profit, receivables, unbilled amounts, and project closeouts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 0 to 2 years of related experience.
  • Pharmaceutical or CRO experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with accounting software packages; Oracle Finance experience preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent financial, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally move within the office to access equipment and filing cabinets.
  • Ability to maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move light to medium office items weighing 10-35 pounds.
  • Frequent use of computer and office productivity equipment.
  • Ability to read and assess written materials for extended periods.
  • Frequent communication with colleagues via phone, email, and in person.

Work Environment

  • Professional office environment with low noise levels.
  • Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • Primarily sedentary role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $56,400.00 - $95,900.00, dependent on qualifications, skills, and proficiency.
