Overview
This internship provides hands-on experience in property accounting, including full-cycle accounting tasks for a set number of properties, review of financial statements, preparation of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and accounting control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Learn the line of business, day-to-day team responsibilities, and how the function operates within the broader real estate business
- Complete in-house training programs for various applications and operational techniques
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results and financial reports
- Support the development of financial outlooks and forecasts
- Help prepare financial reports and presentations for internal use
- Assist in the annual budgeting process by gathering and organizing financial data
- Collaborate with different teams to provide financial insights and support
- Support other projects as needed to gain exposure to different aspects of financial planning
- Build relationships and partner with other teams to work toward shared goals
Qualifications
- Curiosity and a desire to learn
- Quantitative background demonstrating analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex topics
- High standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines
- Preferred major: Accounting, Finance, or related degree
- Graduation timeline: Graduating between December 2026 and May 2027
Program Details
- Program dates: June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027
- This internship offers flexibility to work remotely or be based out of one of the employer’s regional offices.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $21.00/hour
- Additional Compensation:
- Corporate positions: In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible to participate in a quarterly or annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
- Onsite property positions: In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible to participate in weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonus programs.

Location
Many of the property accounting teams work remotely. This internship offers the flexibility to work remotely or be based out of one of the employer’s regional offices.
