Overview
This full-time position is for an RCM Billing Specialist responsible for managing claims proofing, claim submission, payment, and collections. The role ensures valid payment methods are in place for both insured and uninsured patients.
Responsibilities
- Understand financial reporting and general ledger processes for multi-entity, multi-location structures, including consolidations and GAAP compliance.
- Perform accounting functions such as monthly reconciliations of fixed assets, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (AFDA), intercompany transactions, loans, accounts receivable, and revenue.
- Reconcile transactions and reports from external payables and expense platforms to ensure accurate integration into the general ledger.
- Monitor and track expense allocations across entities and locations.
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting projects.
- Support compilation and preparation of monthly financial statements, including budget-to-actual reports and detailed variance analysis.
- Respond to inquiries from other departments regarding accounting records and reporting.
- Assist in cash flow analysis and projections.
- Prepare and assist in financial reporting, including Key Financial Indicators.
- Maintain preparation of various workpaper schedules for all key balance sheet accounts.
- Conduct accounting research and analysis as needed.
- Coordinate with bookkeeper and payroll to ensure timely input of accounts payable and payroll data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, with familiarity in insurance-paid revenue.
- Experience with Sage/Intacct accounting software.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
Work Location & Hours
- Fully remote position.
- Availability required between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
- Must reside in one of the following states: Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia.
- Must maintain a HIPAA-compliant home work environment with secure internet access.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $24.00 - $28.00.
