Overview
The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition and reporting in compliance with ASC 606. This role manages key aspects of the monthly and quarterly close processes, collaborates closely with Finance Operations and Billing teams, and contributes to process improvements and system initiatives to support scalable revenue accounting operations in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Review customer contracts and order forms to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606
- Lead the monthly and quarterly revenue close, including journal entries, allocations, deferrals, reconciliations, and flux analysis for revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable
- Collaborate with Finance Operations and Billing teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely, accurate invoicing and reporting
- Assist with process improvements, automation efforts, and system enhancements to scale revenue accounting operations
- Oversee accurate commission calculations and related reporting
- Support external financial audits by preparing PBC schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
- Lead and contribute to transformation initiatives focused on improving processes and implementing new systems
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Revenue Accounting at a high-growth technology company
- Strong technical knowledge of ASC 606 for software and SaaS, including usage-based and commitment-based contracts
- Proficiency with revenue accounting systems such as Workday Financials, NetSuite ARM, or Zuora Revenue
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting or leading revenue system implementations or major enhancements
- Background partnering closely with Billing, Deal Desk, or Finance Operations teams
- Experience in a public company or SOX-compliant environment

- Competitive base salary range: $90,000 to $136,000

Final salary offers will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top of the salary range is uncommon to allow for future salary growth.
