Overview
This role is for a Senior Accountant within the Lending and Title Division, performing general accounting functions and various analyses in accordance with GAAP. Responsibilities include managing general ledger, balance sheet, income statement accounts, ledger reconciliation, journal entry preparation, and financial statement compilation. The position requires adherence to company policies and all applicable US state and federal laws and regulations.
The target pay range is $36.00 - $46.00 per hour plus an annual bonus. Compensation is based on relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors.
Responsibilities
General Duties
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and record bank activities in the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, including accounts receivable, prepaids, accruals, and other liability accounts.
- Manage internal and external wire transfers.
- Review, analyze, and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts for fluctuations at month-end close to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end audits.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls and established company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments as necessary to resolve issues.
Division-Specific Duties
MLD Division:
- Record initial recognition of fair value adjustments.
- Record and validate monthly interest rate lock entries.
- Record monthly hedging activity and confirm receipt of settlement funds.
- Reconcile and analyze lending-related revenue and expense accounts.
- Coordinate with Treasury to ensure daily funding and sales are recorded accurately.
- Work with lending operations to validate fee accuracy.
- Reconcile warehouse line cash and liability accounts.
- Prepare quarterly reports.
Vylla Division:
- Reconcile and analyze title-related revenue and expense accounts.
- Coordinate with title operations to validate fee accuracy.
- Reconcile and validate pass-through activity and confirm receipt of pass-through amounts.
- Record cash activity and confirm correct amounts were received.
- Reconcile and analyze cost-related accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
- Three to five years of general accounting or finance experience.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP accounting software preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Must work Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone hours.
- Preference for candidates residing on the West Coast.
