Overview
A federally chartered trust bank specializing in digital asset services is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its accounting operations. This role involves managing general ledger activities, accounts payable, cash transactions, fixed asset accounting, and contributing to financial reporting and regulatory filings. Remote candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting functions including booking transactions and monitoring accounts in the Workday general ledger
- Assist in the month-end close process and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage fixed asset accounting
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports with supporting schedules and narratives
- Provide follow-up and documentation for significant variances
- Support quarterly regulatory filings and annual tax filings, including 1099 tax filings
- Assist with the annual external financial audit by compiling documentation and preparing schedules
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidance and internal policies
- Manage daily cash transactions and accounts payable processing, including W9 record keeping and vendor correspondence
- Record and reconcile employee expense reports and reimbursements
- Support payroll system activities and related general ledger transactions
- Contribute to process improvements and development of accounting systems
- Develop and update documentation and training materials for policies and procedures
- Perform ad hoc accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience; start-up experience preferred
- Proficiency with Workday general ledger and accounts payable
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- CPA certification highly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups
- Self-starter with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in digital assets and desire to learn about the digital asset space; prior experience not required
- Experience with travel and expense (T&E) platform tools preferred
