Senior Accountant

Overview

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for motivated professionals with experience in accounting and a desire to contribute to a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage commission processing and financial reporting, including system administration, reconciliations, commission statements, payroll reporting, intercompany transactions, and support of monthly accounting close activities
• Oversee accounts receivable and payable functions, including client invoicing, collections follow-up, shared inbox management, expense review and coding, vendor setup, and coordination with corporate accounting teams
• Support carrier, credentialing, and compliance operations, including carrier setup, state apportionment, licensure documentation, electronic payment efficiencies, and responding to internal and external stakeholder inquiries

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a staff accountant, senior accountant, or commission accountant–equivalent role; experience in the insurance industry is a plus
• Strong technical skills, including intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), data analysis using sorting, filtering, and pivot tables
• Familiarity with CRM and commission processing systems
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $85,000 to $100,000 per year
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401(k), and generous paid time off

• This is a remote position
• Preference for candidates located in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, or surrounding states
