Overview
This role is for a Senior Accountant within a US accounting team at a fast-growing, publicly-traded technology company specializing in connected operations and IoT data solutions. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex accounting areas, support growth initiatives, and work closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end general ledger month-end close activities for complex, high-visibility accounts, including preparation and review of account reconciliations
- Take ownership of assigned accounting areas such as internal-use software, inventory, deferred commissions, marketable securities and investments, complex bank accounts, and AP/AR-related accounts
- Apply technical accounting judgment by researching US GAAP guidance (including ASC 842, ASC 360, ASC 350) and document conclusions in audit-ready memos
- Partner cross-functionally with teams including procure-to-pay, treasury, payroll, sales compensation, order-to-cash, and supply chain to anticipate and resolve issues
- Lead process improvement initiatives by designing and implementing scalable solutions using AI and automation tools
- Support external audits by preparing PBC schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and maintaining organized workpapers
- Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement through process and tooling enhancements
- Evaluate and promote adoption of AI and automation tools to reduce manual effort and improve close quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in both public accounting and industry
- Ability to manage a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of operational accounting processes including accruals, account reconciliation, and month-end/year-end close
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or interest in obtaining CPA
- Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies
- Fast learner with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Experience with NetSuite accounting software
- Experience supporting external audits
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Gem, or Glean
- Critical thinking skills with ability to implement scalable processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $72,887.50 to $98,000 USD (varies by location, knowledge, skills, and experience)
