Overview
This role supports a family-owned organization that provides accounting services to small-business clients across many industries. The team is tech-forward and values long-term growth, employee well-being, and continuous improvement.
This position is 100% virtual/remote.
Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting tasks including AP, AR, PR, and reconciliations
- Manage inventory accounting
- Support accounting needs related to e-commerce businesses
- Handle sales tax / multi-state requirements
- Use and support accounting and business software, including client-facing systems and integrations
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, demonstrating strong client-service orientation
- Act as a decision-maker on relevant matters
- Proactively identify process improvements and help drive continuous improvement
Requirements
Accounting experience
- 7+ years of graduated experience in small business accounting in multiple industries and company types/sizes
- Experience with general accounting (AP, AR, PR, reconciliations, etc.)
- Inventory experience
- E-commerce experience
- Sales tax / multi-state experience
Software / application / integration experience
Experience with many of the following systems (multiple platforms and versions are acceptable):
- QuickBooks (online and desktop; multiple versions)
- Xero
- Sage / Intacct
- Zoho
- FreshBooks, Quicken
- NetSuite or other ERP systems
- Dext / Receipt Bank
- Expensify
- Bill.com
- Veem
- Hubdoc
- Amazon
- Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.
- Avalara, TaxJar, etc.
- Google Workspace
- ShareFile, OneDrive, Dropbox, SharePoint, etc.
- GoToMyPC
- Right Networks / Intuit hosting
