Senior Accountant

Overview

This role supports the Combat Mission Systems accounting team in a general accounting capacity. Responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact with the external audit firm, leading general ledger activities as a subject matter expert, and acting as the lead accountant for hedge-related transactions. The position works independently and as part of a team, applying accounting knowledge with strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead interface between auditors and the organization
• Coordinate audits with internal and external auditors
• Distribute audit requests across relevant business functions
• Partner with program finance to maintain accurate and timely hedge payments and schedules
• Perform month-end tasks required in the General Ledger module of the accounting ERP system
• Prepare journal entries
• Perform monthly account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations
• Maintain and monitor internal controls
• Collaborate with other departments
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance and 4 years’ work experience or equivalent experience
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts
• Ability to prioritize and stay on task in a remote work environment
• Good time management and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
• Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills
• Microsoft Suite experience, especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle ERP experience

• Full-Time Salary Range: $75254 - $127930
