Overview

A growing dental services organization is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join its newly formed corporate accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls during a period of significant organizational transformation and integration of legacy systems. The position involves building processes and policies to support a best-in-class, growth-oriented enterprise.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Support the transition to institutional-grade financial reporting standards and accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and advisors to ensure audit readiness and implement new accounting standards.
  • Assist with accounting diligence for acquisitions in a high-volume roll-up environment.
  • Ensure consistency in financial reporting across legacy and newly acquired entities.

Accounting Operations & Reporting

  • Standardize and document accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis across the consolidated organization.

Internal Controls, Audit & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls suitable for a scaled, audit-ready environment.
  • Assist with external audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate accounting and reporting risks.

Systems, Data & Infrastructure

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes to improve efficiency and data integrity.
  • Partner with FP&A and IT teams to align accounting, reporting, and operational systems.

Strategic Partnership

  • Collaborate across business functions to drive efficiency and reporting consistency.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and strategic initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and IT teams to support consistency and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience in a corporate accounting role at a company with revenues exceeding $300 million or equivalent scale and complexity.
  • Experience at a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm.
  • Prior public company corporate accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience in a private equity–backed, high-growth environment preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, dental, or multi-site services preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and comfort with building new processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and change management skills.
  • Experience leveraging technology to improve transaction processing and technical accounting workflows.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP with the ability to research, implement, and document complex accounting standards in a multi-entity environment.
  • Experience with one or more of the following accounting standards (not all required):
    • ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition)
    • ASC 805 (Business Combinations)
    • ASC 842 (Leases)
    • ASC 350/360 (Goodwill, Intangibles, and Long-Lived Asset Impairment)
    • ASC 450 (Contingencies and Litigation Reserves)
    • ASC 420 (Exit and Disposal Cost Obligations)
    • ASC 310/326 (Accounts Receivable Allowances, including CECL Methodology)
    • ASC 740 (Income Tax Accounting)
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement related to accounting policy, monthly close, reporting, or technology utilization.
