Overview
This role performs complex financial analysis involving expenses, income, and other business results based on past, present, and future operations. The position also supports the evaluation of information used to set the organization’s strategic direction.
Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and report business and financial information at a corporate level; make recommendations to support strategic direction.
- Research, analyze, and report fluctuations in financial and business results to identify trends and variances; recommend actions to improve performance and resolve issues.
- Compare actual financial results to budgeted amounts, identify potential areas of cost impact, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation of company budgets and financial forecasts to support business plans.
- Monitor and evaluate department expenses, identify trends, and support cost control.
- Recommend changes to streamline accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and optimize resource utilization.
- Prepare reports outlining the company’s financial position across income, expenses, and earnings to support financial decision-making.
- Analyze and interpret financial reports and statistics for management; recommend steps to support proper business decisions.
- Assist in reviewing and evaluating performance evaluations to provide coaching and feedback.
- Stay current on developments in financial planning and control and make recommendations to improve financial systems and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Six years of related financial analysis experience.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct various types of analysis, including cost-benefit and alternative analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet applications and mainframe accounting systems.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines.
- Strong business aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of financial and operational planning processes and best practices.
- Strong work ethic and flexible work style.
- Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in performing job duties.
- Proven ability to navigate complex situations across the organization and with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated decision-making with balanced consideration of business issues.
- Clean credit history as reported by a credit report.
Preferred Qualifications
- Health Insurance, Third Party Administrator (TPA), and/or Ophthalmology experience (preferred but not required).
- For roles that are remote (Work From Home (WFM)) or hybrid (partial onsite at a VSP location and WFM), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $84,000.00 - $141,750.00
- Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
- This role may include eligible bonuses and commissions as part of the compensation package.
