Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) is responsible for financial reporting and variance analysis for assigned markets, including preparation of quarterly Board of Director materials. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role provides executive management support for Regional Presidents and manages budget and forecast inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. The position holds full P&L ownership of the supported markets and maintains existing reporting models and financial reports while developing additional reporting and modeling capabilities to enhance analysis provided by the FP&A team to management and operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct financial reporting, data aggregation, and occasional merger & acquisition (M&A) analysis for joint venture partners.
- Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for assigned joint venture partners.
- Prepare financial statement reporting and variance analysis across all assigned joint venture partners.
- Develop financial reports and analyses to support executive decision-making.
- Collaborate with finance leadership to understand nuanced concepts and tradeoffs within the operating model.
- Drive efficiencies and standardization in existing financial reporting and processes.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analyses to support operations and promote profitable, sustainable decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a related role.
- At least 2 years of experience in financial reporting, financial data aggregation, M&A analysis, and preparation of financial variance analyses for multistate healthcare providers.
- Experience preparing financial reports to support executive decision-making.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience creating professional presentations for board meetings or executive reviews.
- Strong critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into key talking points and communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proactive, highly driven self-starter with creative thinking abilities.
- Process-oriented with the ability to assess and improve existing processes to drive efficiencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a multi-site, multi-entity, or joint venture environment.
- Prior financial services experience such as investment banking or management consulting.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
- May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials, supplies, and equipment up to 10 lbs.
- Duties typically involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking with frequent position changes.
- Travel may be required between company locations and out-of-town destinations.
- May require use of safety equipment for infection prevention.
