Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst will focus on revenue, go-to-market (GTM) planning, and sales commissions within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role involves revenue modeling, sales reporting, analyzing key GTM metrics, and providing financial insights to support the Finance and GTM teams. The analyst will work closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and be responsible for the end-to-end design, management, and execution of sales commission and incentive compensation programs. This position reports to GTM Finance Leadership.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) model monthly, analyzing trends by customer, product, and revenue type.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing department heads to review financial results, including actuals versus targets, forecasts, and growth opportunities.
- Administer sales commission and incentive compensation plans, ensuring data accuracy and timely payouts each pay cycle.
- Serve as the primary administrator for the commission management platform, maintaining plan setup, participant data, and workflow configuration.
- Support the FP&A team in preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packages for the Executive team, Board of Directors, and department heads.
- Analyze revenue data, provide commentary on variances, and deliver insights into key trends.
- Examine financial metrics such as margin, retention, cross-sell, and new bookings by product and revenue type to support business objectives.
- Analyze sales pipeline and bookings trends to assist with target setting and revenue forecasting.
- Continuously improve processes, increase efficiency, and analyze trends to drive improvements within the FP&A team and business partners.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, consulting, analytics, or investment banking.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Hands-on experience administering a commission management or Sales Performance Management (SPM) platform; experience with CaptivateIQ is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI, PowerQuery, and PowerPivot is a plus.
- Experience with systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite (ERP), Adaptive Planning, or Snowflake is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships across all organizational levels.
- Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and ownership mentality to manage projects end-to-end.
- Interest in automation and AI to enhance data and analytics capabilities within finance.
- Preferred experience in the technology or SaaS industry and GTM functions.
